About Peter Stevens
As my ‘day job’ I run AK Computer Services (www.akcsl.com), we provide Systems Management Consulting Services to large companies in the UK and Europe. This includes working with companies to deliver monitoring and management solutions for VoIP phone systems, Computer Data Centers and Microsoft infrastructure. Our core business is consultancy around the Microsoft System Center Suite, with particular emphasis on:
- System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
- System Center Service Manager (SCSM)
- Data Protection Manager (DPM)
- Virtual Machine Manager (VMM)
Recently we have taken the IT processes and best practices that we deliver to large enterprise organisations and packaged them as a series of Managed Services. This allows us to deliver the same levels of computer management that our large customers enjoy to Small Businesses.
SystemAssure not only fixes things, we also provide advice and guidance on using IT in Small Businesses. In addition to core Computer Services we deliver hosted, or cloud based, VoIP telephony, helping SME businesses to cut their costs, increases scalability and reduce their Carbon Footprint.
By using a Managed Service, Business Owners benefit from our experience without having to employ a full time IT department.

Prior to running AKCSL I was the Director of Worldwide Technical Support for NetIQ, focusing on AppManager. During my 8 years at NetIQ I spent 3 years living in the USA running the worldwide support organisation before returning to the UK to start AKCSL. NetIQ sold a product, Operations Manager, to Micros0ft back in 1999, this went on to become Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM). MOM evolved into MOM 2005 and then went on to become Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 (SCOM). NetIQ also bought WebTrends, based in Portland Oregon.
